Liverpool plotting ‘sensational’ late-stage move for Leroy Sane

After a brilliant spell in the Premier League with Manchester City, the 27-year-old decided to join the Bavarian club in 2020 for £43 million.

After moving to the Allianz Arena, Sane was criticized for his lack of willingness to contribute defensively. However, the German has managed to overcome this issue and is now an integral part of Bayern’s starting XI.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool plan to bring in Sane at a later date as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah if they are forced to cash in on the Egyptian in the coming hours.

The report further claims that the Etihad are keen on signing the Liverpool ace and they have submitted an official proposal worth up to £150m. However, Liverpool were desperate to keep hold of their star player and so they rejected the offer.

Sane to Liverpool

However, Football Insider says Liverpool are eyeing an elite winger like Sane to replace Salah in case they are forced to sell.

Saudi Arabia’s transfer window will be open longer than the Premier League’s and there are signs the Etihad have not given up hope of signing Salah. The Evening Standard says they are ready to return with proposals for improvements worth up to £200m.

As a result, Liverpool will face a tough challenge in retaining Salah, and they appear to be eyeing Sane as a potential replacement.

Sane is an extremely talented player and has shown his talent at the highest level over the past few years. Therefore, if the Merseyside club signed him today, he would be an excellent signing to replace the Egyptian.

However, it will be interesting to see whether Liverpool ultimately choose to formally express interest in signing Sane before the deadline.

The 27-year-old is a key member of Bayern’s starting 11 so they don’t want to let him leave in the next few hours, especially considering that the German transfer window has closed and they have no chance of replacing him if they let him If you leave.

Therefore, if Liverpool choose to take concrete steps in the coming hours, it is unlikely that they will broker a deal for Sane (valued by Transfermarkt at around £57m).
