Paris Saint-Germain vs Lorient in the French League: Everything you want to know

12 August 2023 - 9:40 pm

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique announced his team’s list to face Lorient at ten in the evening today, Saturday, in the first round of the French League competition for the new season 2023-2024, at the “Park des Princes” stadium.

The Paris Saint-Germain list against Lorient witnessed the exclusion of Kylian Mbappe due to his refusal to renew his contract with the club due to his desire to leave for free next summer, the Brazilian Neymar due to his negotiations with Barcelona in preparation for joining his ranks on loan, and finally Marco Verratti due to injury.

The list of Paris Saint-Germain to face Lorient was as follows:

Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Gianlogi Donnarumma, Arnaud Tenas.

Defense line: Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kurzawa, Lucas Hernandez, Milan Skriniar, Danilo Pereira.

Midfield: Manuel Ugarte, Fabian Ruiz, Kang En Lee, Vitina, Carlos Soler, Warren Zaire Emery, Ismail Gharib.

Offensive line: Hugo Ekteki, Goncalo Ramos, Sher N’Dour, Marco Asensio.

And the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that the Spanish League had filed a complaint against Paris Saint-Germain before the European Commission.

This is given that the subsidies provided to the club from Qatar do not comply with the regulations of the European Union and that the subsidies received by the French club could improve its competitive position and cause major distortions in European markets.

And “La Liga” believes that the foreign subsidies that Saint-Germain received from Qatar are much higher than the capabilities of the French club in normal market conditions, which allows it to contract with the best players and coaches and obtain large numbers of sponsorship rights that are not compatible with the market.

This is the second time in a row that the Spanish League has filed a complaint against Saint-Germain.

And at the beginning of last season, “La Liga” filed a complaint against Saint-Germain before the European Football Association and the French tax authorities due to the renewal of Kylian Mbappe’s contract.
