The German media company claims the Bundesliga champions are ready to sell the 28-year-old if an offer of up to £43m (€50m) is made.

This situation has sounded alarm bells for Manchester United Sky Deutschland The Red Devils are said to be considering a move for Goretzka. Erik ten Hager is still in the market for another midfielder despite the introduction of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Ideally, Goretzka would like to stay at Bayern, but that could change if Thomas Tuchel cannot guarantee his regular playing time next season following the arrival of RB Leipzig’s Konrad Lamer.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Munich on a free transfer after helping Leipzig to their second successive DFB-Pokal victory last season. Lamer was a key figure in Marco Rose’s side as they finished third in the Bundesliga.

Lamer played 29 times for Leipzig Red Bull, scoring 4 goals and contributing 1 assist. Tuchel is said to be planning to use the Austria international in a double midfielder alongside Joshua Kimmich, meaning Goretzka’s status at Bayern could be in jeopardy.

United could capitalize on this and sign the Germany international, but they will still face competition for Goretzka’s signature from three unnamed top clubs, according to Sky Germany.

Goretzka has been consistent at Bayern Munich since his move from Schalke 04 to the Allianz Arena, scoring 35 goals in 147 appearances in all competitions.

At Bayern, he formed a strong partnership with Kimmich, and the pair dominated the game and led the club to multiple titles, including the Bundesliga, Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, DFB-Pokal and DFB-Supercup.

The B2B midfielder has scored 34 goals and provided 35 assists in 179 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions. Last season, he represented Tuchel’s team in 40 appearances and contributed 12 goals, helping the team win the Bundesliga title on the last day of last season.

However, his first-team place appears to be under serious threat, with Goretzka hoping to feature regularly ahead of Euro 2024. It could open the door for United and the Germany international would be an excellent signing if they pull it off.
