Kovar is a Slovakian youth international, and has represented his country at the U16, U17, U19, and U21 levels. He joined Manchester United’s youth academy in 2018, after being scouted playing for Slovan Bratislava. He quickly rose through the ranks of the academy, and was named the club’s U18 Player of the Year in 2020.
In 2021, Kovar signed his first professional contract with Manchester United. He made his first-team debut in a Europa League match against LASK Linz in December 2021. He also made two appearances in the FA Cup that season. In 2022, Kovar joined Rotherham United on loan for the season. He made 28 appearances for Rotherham, helping the club to finish 12th in League One.
What Will The Youngster Offer At Leverkusen?
Kovar possesses considerable goalkeeping talent and a promising future ahead. He boasts a tall and athletic stature, coupled with sharp reflexes and an impressive ability to stop shots. Additionally, he exhibits proficiency in using his feet and initiating play from the defensive line.
While Kovar is still in the early stages of his career, his ongoing development remains pivotal to securing a consistent role at the Bundesliga club. Nonetheless, his inherent potential suggests the makings of a premier goalkeeper, and he is poised to captivate audiences with his performances in the forthcoming years.
As Kovar embarks on the next chapter of his career with Bayer Leverkusen, these abilities, combined with his potential for growth, make him a promising prospect in the world of goalkeeping.
